JOPLIN DISTRICT PRIME TIME SUMMIT
Lebanon, Missouri

PRIME TIME FOLLOW UP REPORTS

Hosted by the Joplin District, a Prime Time Summit was held at the Lebanon, Missouri Church of the Nazarene.

The event was requested by David Knapp, Prime Time director for the Lebanon church. David was unable to attend because he was called to active duty just one day before the event.

Paul Womack, Lebanon’s senior pastor, served as host for the Summit in Knapp’s absence.

Building Prime Time Ministries for Christ was the theme for the one-day gathering. Following devotions by Joplin District Superintendent Jim Dillow, this theme was reinforced through seminars led by General Prime Time Director Derl Keefer.

Keefer challenged participants to continue building local prime time programs for the ever-increasing number of prime timers in the local church. He strengthened this theory by citing a report stating someone turns age 50 every 7 seconds in the U.S.

In addition to these seminars, Karen Keefer, who leads a grief support group at the Lenexa, Kansas Central Church of the Nazarene, concluded the event by leading a session giving leaders practical ways of implementing a grief support group in the local church.

CANADA CENTRAL DISTRICT PRIME TIME SUMMIT
Oakville, Ontario

Canada Central District hosted their first Prime Time Summit at the Oakville Church of the Nazarene near Toronto.
Derl Keefer, coordinator

District Superintendent Ian Fitzpatrick led the group in prayer at a Friday night introductory session that featured a message from Derl Keefer, general Prime Time director. Keefer also gave the opening message the following morning and conducted three sessions on Saturday.

“Geared to the Times” was the theme for the two-day seminar that challenged participants to expect an on-going ministry geared to current-day living in their local churches.

Ted and June Reeve arranged a “talent night” on Saturday evening featuring music, skits, and poetry for the concluding service. They also provided special music and led the congregational singing.

Rosalita Sorzano was the organizing force for the Summit, aided by a planning committee consisting of Lystra Braithwaite, Ted and June Reeves, Helen Routledge, Junior Sorzan, and Betty Zita.

Each participant received one Continuing Lay Training (CLT) credit toward a Prime Time CLT certificate.
